The good life is a process, not a state of being.

Hi, i'm here to help - Why counselling
Hello and welcome here. If you are looking for help, for yourself or someone else,
to better understand or cope with a difficult life situation or experience,
you are in the right place.
At times, life can be tough and tricky and bring us more or less serious challenges. Just when
we thought we worked something out, whether regarding relationships, job, family, financial
situation, health or any other issue, we find ourselves in a spot when we feel that there is more
to “sort out.” Those challenges can feel overwhelming and it can be difficult or not much
of help to talk to family and friends about your struggles.
There might be situations in life when you’re struggling to make sense of things, when e.g. a relationship may have ended, during transitions when we changed job or experienced redundancy, when we are coping with the bereavement, when someone became a parent or maybe left home for the first time, when there was a negative health diagnosis, or maybe we have lost our identity, our trust or our hope.
You might feel something like the following:
- depressed; not knowing how to make you feel better
- lost & confused; not knowing which way to turn
Counselling can be one of the ways to help and support people during such moments and times. Counselling gives you the chance to tell your story, without needing to hold back. When we feel safe, supported and heard, we can reach a place of greater self-understanding and feel empowered.
We then can become more confident in making better,
more informed choices in our lives. Anyone can benefit from the opportunity to take some time-out and explore their thoughts and feelings, discover greater confidence and feelings of peace and content they perhaps once knew or hoped for.
As a qualified counsellor, I am here to offer you a space to listen, understand, explore and work
with your feelings and emotions, accepting you as you are, away from expectations or judgment.
I can provide a listening ear and support, helping you to reach a place of greater peace and
a way to move forward in life.
What clients say
I really feel I have benefitted from my counselling sessions with Alice
a lot, it literally changed my life! I have grown so much as a person and
I am in much better place than I was in the beginning. I couldn't
have got there myself and I know that the sessions will be
something I carry with me and continue to use and grow
with. So thank you so much again.

Alice is incredibly understanding. She creates a space free
of judgement and full of trust. Alice is also easy to talk to and
I find it very easy to relate to her. Especially given the current
pandemic, she is really helping me control my anxiety
and depression. I would highly recommend her.
In the short time I’ve been working with Alice I couldn’t
be happier. Not only she is extremely responsive but also very warm
and understanding. She really reads to what I am saying and is able
to dig deep into the core issues. She asks all the right questions and
has really opened my eyes.
At present, I work solely via online counselling
as many people find it most practical in nowadays busy lives. I usually have sessions with my clients
via Zoom or Skype, or other video calls.
Some might be sceptical at first about doing therapy
online, nevertheless, research of the last decade has consistently come to the conclusion that it is
equally effective as face-to-face therapy.
How does it work? We connect through a safe wifi
connection and video calls (Skype, Zoom
or other apps), which allows easy access
and continuity in therapy.
Online counselling is also particularly
helpful nowadays when there are various health concerns and social distancing is encouraged.
When online counselling first started several years ago, it was especially convenient for those who lived a busy life and found it hard to commit to weekly sessions (whether this is due to work commitments or raising up family), for those who frequently travelled abroad, those who were from some reason house bound or with limited mobility, or for those who lived in a different country but would still like to be able to receive therapy
in their own mother tongue.
However, because of its convenience and high approachability from anywhere, the online counselling
is quickly becoming a very popular
way of therapy for everyone.
As our therapeutic relationship develops, this will help you to create and maintain
more fulfilling relationships and live more meaningful, purposeful life.
